Flow - All Levels

Flow 1

This class is a “slower” rhythm focused on the basic asanas found in a typical yoga flow or vinyasa class and you may hear some Sanskrit names for the poses. If you’re a more advanced practitioner, you can still benefit from Flow - Level 1  classes as they focus on foundational work that sometimes falls by the wayside after many years of practice. You will be exposed to postures that are precursors to intermediate postures so you can start building muscle memory and body awareness to move into different shapes. Benefits include but are not limited to building strength, flexibility, balance, stress relief, and to cultivate overall peace for the mind, body and soul.

If you begin feeling good within the poses in this class feel free to give Flow - All Levels a try! You might just surprise yourself.

Restorative

Restorative yoga is a deep relaxing, gentle, and nourishing practice. Expect to use props such as blocks, bolsters, straps and sometimes even sandbags to help support postures. Postures are held from 3-5 minutes sometimes longer to help stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, which is the rest and digest system, as well as, the use of breathing techniques. Most postures are either seated or lying on the floor. Benefits include but are not limited to improving range of motion, joint mobility, restoring health, reducing pain, stress and improving a sense of peace and well-being.

The use of props is encouraged to help find stability and ease. Benefits include but are not limited to improving calmness, stability, confidence, stress relief, and a positive sense of self.

Hatha Fusion

Looking to balance your energy? Derived from Sanskrit “ha” (sun), and “tha” (moon), this practice is designed to unite and balance these two energies which are known to be unbalanced in our bodies. Through thoughtfully crafted sequences of poses, breathing exercises, Mantras and Mudras you’ll learn how to channel vital energy throughout your body. You can expect static holds, slower movements, all while building strength, mobility and balance.

Yin Yang

Experience the perfect harmony of Yin and Yang in this unique yoga class designed to balance the mind, body, and spirit. Our Yin Yang class combines the deep, meditative aspects of Yin Yoga paired with the fiery element of Yang Yoga creating the perfect duality for your well-being.

The first half of this class is approached differently using yin poses. This begins to create space where we slow down and hold poses for an extended period. Yin Yoga targets the deeper connective tissues, such as fascia, ligaments, and strengthens our joints, promoting relaxation, flexibility, and inner stillness. This quiet and introspective practice allows for deep release and aids the process of warming up the body.

We will follow that with some dynamic movements and isolated holds - The Yang. This is where we then focus on building strength, flexibility and stamina through more active movements. Sequences are designed to invigorate the body, awaken the muscles, and stimulate the flow of energy (prana or qi). As we move through the Yang portion, you will feel the warmth and vitality that comes from this Hatha style portion of class.

By the end of the class, you’ll experience a sense of equilibrium, having engaged both the active (Yang) and receptive (Yin) aspects of your being. This class is perfect for those looking to cultivate a deeper connection with their body and to balance their energy. This class also benefits those coupling other workout activities such as running, cycling and weightlifting.
